We were very honored to attend the City of Manassas ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 9, 2024, celebrating the completion of the City Hall renovations. Located in the historic district, the project involved interior and façade renovations to the four-story, 35,795-square-foot building, originally constructed in 1986. The renovation reorganized spaces for key departments, including the mayor’s office, finance, human resources, and community development, while enhancing customer service areas. Improvements included a public community room, art displays, and upgraded mechanical, electrical, and data systems.
Downey & Scott provided Construction Management Services for the City Hall project, which had an actual construction cost of $12.9 million. The project was completed in collaboration with Henley Construction Company, Inc., as the general contractor, and Samaha Associates, as the architect.
Downey & Scott has an extensive working history with the City of Manassas, providing services for various new construction and renovation projects. Some of these projects for the City include the new Public Safety facility, the renovation of the Manassas Museum, the City of Manassas Fire and Rescue Station, the new Baldwin Elementary and Intermediate School, and the renovation of the City's Police Station. The budgets for these projects have ranged from $3.1 million to $32.5 million.
