Commissioning

Downey & Scott has Commissioning professionals on staff whose systematic quality control processes ensure an owner’s facilities systems operate correctly and at peak efficiency. These experts typically engage during the pre-design phase and continue through project close-out. Their systematic approach confirms Owner’s requirements are reflected in design documents and records and addresses the operational requirements throughout the construction phase while ensuring correct installation, start-up, and performance of complex building systems. Our experts complete

Commissioning Activities in compliance with LEED Fundamental, Enhanced, Enhanced + Monitoring, and Building Envelope Commissioning Requirements.

This service benefits owners by reducing the risk of faulty installation, optimizing system performance and efficiency, maximizing systems’ lifespan, protecting investments, and ensuring fully operational systems and move-in-ready buildings.

Our Commissioning Agents will review the construction documents, develop the Commissioning Plan and Commissioning Specifications, prepare Pre-Functional Checklists and Functional Performance Tests. They will observe on-going Construction and maintain an Issues Log. They will oversee the Functional Performance Testing and prepare a Commissioning Report detailing their findings. If registered, The Commissioning Agent will assist in preparation of paperwork for submission to LEED.
