Downey & Scott provided cost estimating, and value engineering for this LEED Certified 32,000 GSF, single-storied community center. The project scope includes expanding the existing parking lot, demolishing the Lorton Community Action Center, repurposing the playground, and eventually connecting with the completely renovated 10,000 SF Library through a common lobby. When complete, the facility will also serve as the new home for the Lorton Senior Center with additional upgrades to the park, playground, fitness equipment, and walking trails.
